Hello from OSMS

Large RamDear Students,

We miss seeing you every day. It is hard to believe that we have not been together for a week. Closing school is a tough decision, but we need to do our part in helping keep our community and families safe. By working on your schoolwork at home, you are doing your part to help many stay healthy.

We are sure that your family has seen the many emails from Superintendent Perruccio regarding school updates. In addition to you checking Google classroom and 365 email, please remind your families to check their emails for future updates from the district. For now, we are offering supplemental learning tools, which means they are optional, through Google classroom. We know your teachers have uploaded a lot of learning materials. As things progress, we may move to a distance learning plan. At that time, teachers will communicate out expectations for those assignments to be completed in a manageable, timely way. We will communicate with you, your parents and guardians, should this be our next step.

We know that this will be a new type of learning experience for everyone. We would want to be working with you face to face, but we must all do the best we can to support one another and complete our learning activities.

Attached, you will find letters from your grade 5 and 6 level teachers with class codes. Please use these codes to access your activities. Grades 7 and 8 students already have access and have been using Google classroom regularly. Your specials teachers will contact you with your Google classroom contacts for trimester three.

If you have any questions, please email your teacher or guidance counselors. You can find their emails below. They can also help you with access to PowerSchool if you need to see the T3 specials classes for which you are enrolled.

Please remember all the kindness activities we have done this year as an OSMS family and the profound impact being kind can have on ourselves and others. Keep this in mind as you interact with your peers, siblings, parents, and other family members.

Stay safe and be healthy.
