Good Afternoon Families,
We hope you are all doing well and staying healthy. All of our staff miss your children greatly. Some teachers have begun online meetings with students.
Virtual meetings have been a helpful learning tool and allow our students to feel more connected. I was lucky enough to join in on a grade 5 class last week. It was terrific to see the students' faces.
We continue to seek feedback from parents and students. Teachers are still
re-evaluating workloads. We hope that you and your child have felt that the level of work has been appropriate. If not, we encourage you to partner with us by providing teachers with feedback about how to make online learning even more meaningful and valuable.
One thing to keep in mind is that
students should be checking into their core classes daily. Some students complete their work early in the week, then do not check-in after submission. Teachers provide students with feedback on their products and often ask them to improve their work. Feedback is an essential part of the learning process, so we are requesting that students check into core classes daily.
Students do not attend each specials class each day while in school; therefore, they do not need to check into each specials class each day during this time. They should
check in to 2-3 specials classes a day on a rotating basis.
If a student is not able to check into classes on a given day due to uncontrollable circumstances, please
call the school and let us know that they will be absent.
