We have gotten through another week without any Covid cases in the middle school. There may be a spike coming after people traveled last week, so it’s very important that students wear school-provided
masks at all times in the classroom and on campus, unless given permission by the teacher for a safe break.
Smarter Balanced Assessment: Beginning April 27th, our students will start taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) in mathematics and literacy. Below is the tentative schedule of testing for our students. Please be sure your children are on time to school, well rested, fed, and have fully charged their devices. Grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 will test on the following days:
APRIL 27 and 28 ELA (Split in half over two days) Tuesday and Wednesday
MAY 4 and 5 MATH (Split in half over two days) Tuesday and Wednesday
MAY 11: MATH PT Tuesday
A Message from our Grade 8 Executive Board: Starting April 26th and going until the 30th OSMS will be starting Cereal Box Dominoes, where everyone who can, brings in one cereal box of their choice. Students will keep these boxes in their homeroom until the end of the week. Then, on the last day, the executive board will collect these boxes and set them up as dominoes! We will find a way to have everyone see the dominoes fall. Please send in a cereal box, because after the dominoes, they will all be donated to the soup kitchen!
