This week we did have one Covid case in the building resulting in two quarantines. The state guidelines have been adjusted and, in some cases, students who are wearing their masks correctly may not need to quarantine. Please remind students to wear their masks over their nose and under their chin so they are less likely to have to quarantine if exposed.
Utilizing PowerSchool to Understand Your Child’s Growth Toward the grade-level
Standards for students in grades 5 and 6: Students in both grades 5 and 6 get feedback on their work toward the standards and their report cards communicate growth towards grade-level standards. The standards on the 5/6 report card are “Big Bucket” standards. They are a combination of more discrete skills. Having information about the smaller, more specific skills can be useful in understanding your child’s precise strengths and weaknesses. You can access this information in PowerSchool. Occasionally checking PowerSchool throughout the trimester can be helpful in understanding your child’s growth toward the standards.
The numbers you see in PowerSchool are associated with information about your child’s current skill-level toward the end of year standard.
4 is
Advanced meaning that in addition to demonstrating the learning standard, the student accepts and meets learning challenges independently.
3 is
Mastery. The student can demonstrate his/her learning of the standard. This is the goal for the grade level and should be celebrated.
2 means the student is
Developing or progressing toward the learning standard.
1 is
Beginning meaning that the student’s understanding of the learning standard is limited. To learn how to access standards in Power-School, please see the attached presentation.

Esta semana tuvimos un caso de Covid en el edificio que resultó en dos cuarentenas.
