We have not had any positive Covid cases at the middle school since Monday’s email.

Group Texts and Spamming: We want to make parents aware that we are getting reports about phone misuse, especially among grade 7 students. Some students are creating large text groups. There are often inappropriate things said and a large number of people in these groups are exposed to this language. Students are also making groups and face timing each other repeatedly, “spamming”. These are hard to block and frustrating to many families. Please consider talking with your child about these behaviors and checking their phone occasionally to discuss their phone use.
Homework Club: There will be no homework club on April 14.
Lost and Found is overflowing. If your child is missing anything, please have them check the Lost and Found. We will be donating the items the week prior to the April break if they are unclaimed.
Smarter Balanced Assessment and Next Generation Science Standards Assessment: As we do each year, we will be administering the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) and Next Generation Science Standards Assessment (NGSS).
Looking for things to do this summer? Old Saybrook educators are planning experiential mini-courses for enrolled students entering P-12. Last year, classes like Bring the Zoo to You (P/K), Junk Drawer Science (1-4), The Mix Up: Hip Hop, Rock, and Electronica (7-12), and Art Workshops (7-12) offered students a fun opportunity to stay connected with friends while learning new skills.
