Last week the leadership group attended a field trip to Penny Lane. Alex Foulkes spoke to the Grade 8 Leadership Council for almost an hour about the benefits and difficulties of running a small business, the challenges of managing employees, keeping to a budget, overcoming adversity, and trying to stay one step ahead of the competition. Alex discussed the role of motivation and discipline in the “recipe of success” as well as the importance of failure in becoming successful. He also provided advice to the group about applying for a first job, including tips for creating a resume and strategies for separating oneself from other applicants.
